A US distributor comparing industrial degreasers or cleaning chemical concentrates from TURKIYE should separate the chemistry of the product from the commercial packaging proposal. A cheap quotation is difficult to evaluate until the exact formulation, intended use, labeling and import responsibilities are understood.
Specify the chemical product rather than the marketing name
Ask for intended substrates and use conditions, concentrations, packaging size, shelf life, hazardous properties and any performance data available for the formulation. Commercial names such as heavy-duty cleaner or industrial degreaser cannot identify the exact regulatory status of the components.
A supplier quotation should state whether the product is a ready-to-use liquid or a concentrate and identify the proposed bottle, drum or intermediate bulk container. Confirm compatibility with the closure and packaging materials before selecting a shipping configuration.
Determine TSCA obligations with the US importer
The US Environmental Protection Agency explains that importers of chemicals may have obligations under the Toxic Substances Control Act and associated import certification rules. The appropriate classification depends on the chemical and applicable exclusions; it cannot be determined from a product photograph or HS code alone.
Before shipment, the importer should obtain the necessary substance and formulation information, consult competent customs and regulatory advisers, and determine who is responsible for any applicable certification. An overseas supplier’s statement of prior exports is not a substitute for this review.
Structure a comparable purchase request
Request a specification sheet, safety documentation where applicable, samples, minimum order quantities, lot traceability, container loading figures and the intended Incoterms. Compare prices at identical pack sizes and concentrations.
For private-label orders, clarify who reviews artwork and warning language for the US market before printing. Testing the final formulation in the proposed package is more informative than approving an empty container by appearance alone.
